The Work: 1.4 represents a medical statistic concerning the likelihood of contracting HIV in Thailand. Inspired by these numbers the artist worked with snapshots of individuals painted with fluorescent colors and installed in a darkened Thai-style house. The aim of the work is to encourage people to think about how they need to adjust their perception in order to understand others who live in the same society.
