Otto Berchem is an American conceptual artist who lives and works in Amsterdam. He uses various media and works across a variety of contexts and sites, employing surprising concepts and methods. Berchem aims to reach and address different kinds of audiences. His work in the H+F Collection was included in the traveling exhibition The Suspended Moment (2005-07), which was shown in Bangkok in 2006.

The Work: Inspired by the ubiquitous stray dogs lounging around the campus of Chulalongkorn University, the artist decided to make special collars for these creatures who roam Bangkok streets. The artwork is a performance of sorts that was documented by photography. The images speak of care and belonging.
